Privacy Policy

We run a static site with no accounts, no sign-up forms and no newsletter. The personal data we touch is minimal — this page explains exactly what, why, and the rights you have under India's DPDP Act 2023 and the GDPR.

Privacy policy details

1. Who we are

WorldBest Shares ("we", "us") publishes stock-market education and curated research lists at https://worldbestshares.com. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") we act as the data fiduciary for the limited personal data described below; under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") we are the data controller. You can reach us at contact@worldbestshares.com.

2. Plain-English summary

  • We have no user accounts, no login, no newsletter and no contact forms. The only personal data you can give us directly is an email you choose to send.
  • Our calculators run entirely in your browser — the amounts, durations and rates you enter are never transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
  • We use (or may use) Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show ads. Both set cookies; both can be refused or blocked without losing access to any content.
  • Some broker links are affiliate links that may pay us a commission. The broker — not we — collects any data you submit on their site after clicking.

3. Data we collect

3.1 Data you give us

If you email contact@worldbestshares.com, we receive your email address, anything you write, and standard email metadata. We use it solely to answer you (e.g. process a data correction) and keep the thread only as long as needed for that purpose.

3.2 Data collected automatically

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referrer and user-agent string. Logs are used for security, abuse prevention and debugging, and rotate automatically. Third-party services we embed (Sections 5–6) collect data described in their own policies.

3.3 Data we deliberately do not collect

No names, no phone numbers, no PAN/Aadhaar, no financial holdings, no calculator inputs, no precise location. We never ask for, and you should never send us, your demat or bank credentials — nobody legitimate asks for those by email.

4. Cookies

This site's own pages set no first-party cookies. Cookies you may encounter here come from the third-party services below:

You can manage cookies in three ways: (a) respond to any consent banner shown in your region; (b) block or delete cookies in your browser settings — every page on this site works fully without cookies; (c) use the Google opt-outs linked in Sections 5 and 6.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate readership — which lists and guides are read, on what devices, and from which regions. GA4 does not log full IP addresses, and we do not feed it any identifier that could name you. We use these statistics only to decide what to write and fix next. You can opt out at any time with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies. How Google processes this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

6. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display ads through Google AdSense in clearly bordered ad slots. Google and its certified ad partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads, measure their performance and, where permitted, personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. We never pass Google any personal data ourselves, and ad placement has no influence on our editorial content — an advertiser cannot buy a place on a stock list.

Your controls: opt out of personalised ads at adssettings.google.com, or industry-wide at optout.networkadvertising.org and youronlinechoices.com. Where consent rules apply (EEA/UK and, under the DPDP Act, India), personalised ads are served only with your consent — refusing means you see non-personalised ads instead, with no loss of content.

7. Affiliate disclosure

Some links to brokers and demat-account providers are affiliate links: if you click one and open an account, the broker may pay us a commission. This costs you nothing extra — brokerage and account charges are identical either way. Three commitments:

  • Affiliate links are confined to clearly labelled call-to-action buttons and the brokers page, and carry rel="nofollow sponsored" in the page markup.
  • Commissions never influence which stocks appear in our lists or what our guides recommend you compare.
  • After you click, you are on the broker's website under the broker's privacy policy — any KYC data (PAN, Aadhaar, bank details) you submit goes to them, not to us. Verify any broker's SEBI registration before opening an account.
  • Consent — analytics and advertising cookies where a consent requirement applies (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); DPDP Act s.6). You may withdraw consent at any time as easily as you gave it.
  • Legitimate interests / legitimate uses — security server logs, abuse prevention, and responding to an email you voluntarily sent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); DPDP Act s.7).
  • Legal obligation — retaining records where Indian law requires it (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).

9. Your rights under India's DPDP Act, 2023

If you are in India, the DPDP Act 2023 (read with the DPDP Rules notified in 2025) gives you the right to:

  • Access — a summary of the personal data we process about you and the processing activities (s.11);
  • Correction and erasure — have inaccurate data corrected and data that is no longer necessary erased (s.12);
  • Grievance redressal — a readily available means to raise a grievance, which we must answer within a reasonable time (s.13);
  • Nominate — designate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity (s.14);
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, with effect going forward (s.6(4)).

To exercise any of these, email contact@worldbestshares.com with the subject "Privacy:". If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. In practice, because we hold almost nothing, most requests resolve to "we hold only the email thread you sent us, and here it is / it is now deleted".

10. Your rights under the GDPR (EEA/UK visitors)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection — including to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21) — and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing (Art. 7(3)). You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (or the UK ICO). We respond to requests within one month.

11. Data retention & security

  • Email correspondence: kept while the query is open and typically deleted within 24 months of the last message, sooner on request.
  • Server logs: rotated on our host's standard schedule (typically 30–90 days).
  • Analytics data: retained per our Google Analytics setting (maximum 14 months for event-level data), then aggregated.

The site is served over HTTPS. We store no databases of user data, which is the strongest security measure a website can take: data that is never collected cannot leak.

12. Children

This site is intended for adults who can legally invest in India (18+). We do not knowingly process personal data of children and serve no content directed at them. Under the DPDP Act we do not undertake tracking or behavioural advertising directed at children; if you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

13. International transfers

Google services may process data on servers outside India and outside the EEA, including in the United States. Such transfers occur under Google's applicable safeguards (for EEA data, EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework). The Indian government may by notification restrict transfers to specific countries under DPDP Act s.16; we will comply with any such notification.

14. Third-party links

Our lists and guides link to external sources — NSE/BSE, SEBI, screener.in, broker research pages and news articles — so you can verify our figures. Those sites have their own privacy policies; we are responsible for none of them.

15. Changes to this policy

We update this page when our tooling or the law changes (for example, future DPDP Rules notifications) and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be flagged on the home page. Continued use after a change means the updated policy applies.

16. Contact & grievances

Privacy questions, rights requests and grievances: contact@worldbestshares.com (subject line "Privacy:"). We acknowledge within 72 hours and aim to resolve within 30 days.
